About our founder
FootCamps was founded by Phil Elias, who has worked as Director of Studies and Camp Manager at both the Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC camps in Charterhouse, Lancing and Repton.
Phil will be returning in summer 2024 as Director of Studies of the Elite Performance Camp at Surrey Sports Park and at the Development Camp in Lancing College.
Phil is a UEFA qualified football coach as well as a FIFA graduate and PFSA qualified football scout with coaching experience in Ghana, France, South Korea, Ecuador, Colombia and Wales.
He is a highly qualified and experienced language educator who has worked in a wide range of roles in the public and private sectors in Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
Phil has led and organised school trips for young people as well as coordinated sporting events for multinational education institutions.
He understands the worries and needs of parents who send their children on excursions and is ideally placed to attend to their needs with direct contact of the managers and directors at each camp.
He is a great believer in the concept of the multilingual student-athlete as a way of helping to build well-rounded individuals who are resilient, adaptable and multi-faceted, enabling them to deal with the challenges of the modern globalised world.
